Who was tested and what changed

TB-500 research: what changed in each study

The clearest result comes first. Next are animals, people given the full protein, and the facts still missing.

What thymosin beta-4 can do that TB-500 may not

Early researchers studied thymosin beta-4, not TB-500. They wanted to learn how cells and wounds repair. Your body makes thymosin beta-4 in many cells. The full protein is a 43-amino-acid chain [1]. Amino acids are small building blocks that make proteins. TB-500 copies seven of them, numbered 17–23. The full protein weighs 4963 daltons. The copy weighs 889 daltons. A dalton is an atom-sized lab weight unit. The figures show that the full protein is much larger.

The difference changes how you read each study. Another active part can break free from the full protein. That part may affect scars and vessels. The copy can't release it. Nearly every wound, heart, and human study used thymosin beta-4 [5]. The copy may share some effects, but no one has proved that. No finished, fair human trial has tested the copy [4]. Watch which form the researchers gave.

What the X-ray showed inside a cell

Researchers used an X-ray to see thymosin beta-4 grip actin. They were tracking actin, the protein that props up cells. The setup used part 1 of another protein. That helper was part of the lab setup, not a treatment. The view showed detail at 2 ten-billionths of a meter. That was close enough to see thymosin beta-4 hold actin [1]. The grip covered both ends of loose actin. That kept actin from joining into long strands. The X-ray showed the grip; it didn't show a healed person.

TB-500 copies part of that gripping area. Full thymosin beta-4 clearly holds actin. Actin also helps a cell move. Later repair claims rely mainly on animal work and dish-grown cells. You can accept the X-ray result without assuming human healing.

What the full protein changed in rat wounds

Researchers cut deeply through rat skin. Some rats got thymosin beta-4 on the cut. Other rats got the protein by belly shot. Afterward, new skin grew 42% more in four days. At seven days, the rise reached 61%. Wounds were at least 11% smaller by day seven. Collagen rose too. This protein helps skin stay strong. New blood vessels formed. Just 10 trillionths of a gram moved dish-grown skin cells two to three times more [2]. That tiny dish amount isn't a dose for your body. The rats received full thymosin beta-4, not the short copy.

The paper calls a low-oxygen switch HIF-1α. You don't need that label to follow the finding. The switch helped thymosin beta-4 raise a vessel-growth substance [11]. The protein also raised substances that clear hurt tissue [13]. A review found fewer scar-making cells and more cell movement [5]. Those findings led to skin and eye tests. The short copy's effect on a human wound remains unknown.

What TB-500 heart claims leave out

One team shut blood flow in a mouse heart. An artery was blocked. Full thymosin beta-4 switched on a cell-survival process. More heart cells lived at first. The mouse hearts also pumped better [3]. The small copy wasn't used.

A pig test found a different result. Thymosin beta-4 didn't reduce heart harm when blood returned [9]. The two animal findings don't agree. Neither one tells you that TB-500 helps a human heart.

What TB-500 stroke claims leave out

Researchers caused strokes in rats. They gave full thymosin beta-4 by belly shot. Helpful amounts were 2 and 12 milligrams per kilogram. In plain terms, each rat's weight set its amount. The gains lasted from day 14 through day 56. Rats gained nothing at 18 milligrams per kilogram [7]. More wasn't better.

That test used full thymosin beta-4. It didn't show that the small copy helps a person after stroke. A planned shot study in people was withdrawn [10]. Keep those limits beside any brain claim.

What TB-500 vessel claims leave out

Full thymosin beta-4 raised a substance that grows vessels. The paper says a low-oxygen switch called HIF-1α helped. The lab name isn't needed to grasp the result. Cells from vessel walls also moved [11]. Fresh vessels carry blood into wounds. Tumors can draw on them as well [12].

That is the concern. The same act may aid healing and cancer. Human cancer from the smaller copy hasn't been shown. You still need both facts when weighing the risk.

What TB-500 swelling claims leave out

A dish test of full thymosin beta-4 lowered scar-making cells. The paper calls one swelling signal IL-8. You don't need that lab label to follow the result. Both measured parts of swelling grew quieter [5]. Fewer scar-making cells may mean less scar tissue.

People weren't tested. The small copy wasn't tested either. No comparable change has been found in a fair test of people [4]. The dish result isn't proof that you would feel relief.

What exercise changed in thymosin beta-4

A 2021 study found thymosin beta-4 in human blood after exercise [15]. The body released the full protein during exercise. Researchers thought it might help cells grow and repair.

That finding helped spark interest in TB-500. Yet the study found the body's full protein. It didn't show that a shot of the smaller copy copies exercise. Only a direct human test could answer that.

What TB-500 safety claims leave unsettled

Human safety work on TB-500 is scarce. Cancer studies raise the main worry. High amounts of thymosin beta-4 appear in several cancers. Pancreas and colon cancer are two examples. Full thymosin beta-4 can move cells and feed new vessels. Wounds use both acts. Tumors might use them too [12]. That doesn't prove that the small copy harms people.

The Phase 1 human test used full thymosin beta-4. It included 40 healthy adults. They got the protein through a vein. Amounts reached 1260 milligrams. Mild or medium side effects were rare. No grave side effect occurred [4]. The test says little about other shot sites or long use. It says even less about the smaller copy. Lab vials bring another doubt. The label, amount, or contents may be wrong. Ask who checked any vial you are offered.

What TB-500 safety facts add up to

No fair human safety trial has tested TB-500 [4]. So no one can give a firm yes. The nearby facts point both ways. People tolerated full thymosin beta-4 by vein up to 1260 milligrams in Phase 1 [4]. Mice with weak muscles grew more new fibers. Their strength, heart work, and scars didn't improve [8]. Thymosin beta-4 didn't reduce heart harm in pigs [9]. Cancer work also raises concern about new vessels [12].

Those are animal findings plus one test of another form. You still don't have a human safety answer for the small copy.

What human TB-500 trials are still missing

No finished, fair human trial has tested TB-500 [4]. Researchers gave full thymosin beta-4 in the human work. The Phase 1 vein test found that people tolerated up to 1260 milligrams [4]. Other teams put thymosin beta-4 in eye drops. They studied dry eyes and wounds on the clear eye surface.

A planned shot study for sudden stroke was withdrawn [10]. A study listing isn't a finished study. Check which form was used in every human claim.
